Well he was right. After conducting a very non-scientific poll of my guests, it seemed that many of them found Nine Gables on this site. The problem is that Trip Advisor also gives the B and B's listed there a ranking. I never considered myself a competitive person but this ranking system intrigues me. To be honest, I don't really understand how it works - one day we can be ranked as number 6 of all the B and B's in Picton and the next number 2! Even the personnel at Trip Advisor, who periodically call to see if I'd like to pay for additional exposure, can't tell me how this ranking system works. But I can't resist taking a peek every now and then and was most surprised to see that I had risen to position #2. Now this also brings with it some added pressure. In the past, I had become use to being at number 4 and then at number 6 but position number 2 is going to be difficult to maintain. However, not as hard as being in spot number 1 in which there is only one direction to go. So I'll relish my number 2 position for a while hoping that I never achieve position number 1 but also keeping my fingers crossed that I don't fall below, oh I don't know, lets say number 6.
For now, I'll take a screen shot so I'll remember this moment.
Note: on August 17, inexplicably we made it into the #1 spot!
